A trio of armed thugs wearing hoodies thought that they held the advantage over the lone clerk behind the counter when they tried to rob this Canton, Ohio, gas station last night, but they didn’t count on him being ready for them:
One man is still on the loose after an attempted robbery at a Canton gas station that led to a firefight, killing two.
Canton Police said the shooting took place at the Marathon Gas Station at 2201 9th St. SW during an attempted robbery Monday night around 9:25 p.m.
Police said three men tried to rob the store, shooting the clerk in the legs. The clerk returned fire, killing two of the three would-be robbers.
The third robber, who wears a white mask and all black clothing in the surveillance video above, is still on the loose.
All three suspects managed to flee the store. One was found dead in a parking lot, and another was found dead at a nearby intersection. The third suspect was not apprehended, and it is unknown at this time whether or not he was injured.
The clerk was shot in the legs (thugs don’t know how to use their sights), but is expected to recover.
Curiously, ABC News 5 posted two mug shots with the story that suggests that the two dead criminals were, even though they have not yet officially been identified.
Meatloaf, how do you feel about the clerk’s performance?
We concur. Nicely done, sir. We hope that you heal up soon, and that Marathon treats this clerk better than other stores have treated clerks who dared to save their own lives.
