One of the real joys of being around the shooting sports industry is the constant innovation in all segments of the market. One market segment that has grown in recent years is that of affordable concealed carry pistols.
SCCY Industries has been making headway in this market, with the CPX-2 variant tested in the video, and the CPX-1, which is roughly the same design with the addition of a manual safety.
Eric notes that the pistol’s revolver-style long-pull DAO trigger takes a little bit of work to get used to for people used to shorter and lighter striker-fired pistols, but it does tend to be accurate out to 50 yards, if a little “snappy” on recoil due to it’s light weight. The pistol was reliable, without a single failure in 350+ rounds.
In the SCCY’s defense, DAO triggers can be mastered with practice, and snappy recoil is expected in any compact, polymer-framed pistol shooting 9mm ammunition.
The video also shows why cheap 2 liter soda’s are fun and inexpensive reactive targets.
